consumer electronics market in the
United States will reach $155
billion in 2007, according to
Research and
Consulting Outsourcing Services' “Consumer Electronics
Market Worldwide" report.
Market revenue for the sector reached $144.5
billion in 2006, according to the company.
RNCOS said the industry had remodeled to churn
out in-demand products such as MP3 players, high-definition
televisions and smartphones.
The
company released market size data for some specific sectors.
RNCOS predicted that the US video game industry would grow
more than 22.5% in 2007 to reach $15 billion.
For consumer electronics accessories, the
company predicted $10 billion in 2007 revenue, driven mainly by
portable gadgets.
